How Our Services Are Funded

The Queenstown Lakes Family Centre is a registered charity, committed to the challenging goal of creating positive mental health and wellbeing for all children between the ages of 0 to 17 years of age.

We are only partially funded by Central Government (25%) and rely upon community supporters for a large part of our operating budget (50%) that enables us to maintain a professional, focused and multi-disciplinary mental health service. The remaining 25% is raised from those we help who are able to donate for the services they receive.

An individual’s mental capital and mental wellbeing crucially affect their path through life. Moreover, they are vitally important for the healthy functioning of families, communities and society. Together, they fundamentally affect behaviour, social cohesion, social inclusion, and our prosperity.

Our work helps nearly one hundred at risk individuals every year. Improving not only their opportunities but also those of their siblings, parents, educational providers and peers. So your donations enable us to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Wakatipu who particularly need them.
